The history of ERA began in Moncalieri, near Turin, in 1983 with the distribution in Italy and abroad of original products from Sipea (switches, relays, steering locks, etc.) and Efel (starters and alternators). In fact, the mission of ERA has always been to specialize in providing high-quality electrical components for passenger, light commercial, and heavy-duty vehicles.
Here are the key milestones in the company's development:
1983 – ERA (ELETTRO Rappresentanze Autocomponenti) was founded as the aftermarket division of Sipea.
1989 – Together with Sipea, ERA joined the American multinational company TRW, marking a new and positive phase of international growth.
1999 – ERA became an independent company, characterized by significant expansion of its electrical components range and global distribution network.
2001 – ERA became a joint-stock company and obtained UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 quality certification.
2007 – ERA acquired the MESSMER brand, specializing in high-quality fuel pumps, starters, and alternators.
Today, ERA operates in more than 70 countries worldwide.
